Have any of you guys used the 150 grain Woodleigh protected point bullets on elk in your .270 Win? I did a search on here but not much showed up.
No elk around here and I've not used the Woodleigh in the 270. But load them up to around 2900fps and I think you'll have a fine big game combo.

Woodleigh bullets are among the best.
Thanks, Bob. I have some coming to try out. Only three reviews on the midway site but they were favorable. Not much info on this bullet.
They will hold together if their .458 and .308 bullets are any indication.

Woodleigh are a quality product, I've used the protected points in 270, 308, 3006, 300Mag, 338WM and 9.3x62 they expand reliably and hold together very well.
I ran 56 grain of AR2213SC for 2800 fps in my 270 on wild boar and red deer without any fuss.

Not a .270/150, but this 180 protected point went through both shoulder blades on a bull moose via a 30-06 at less than 50 yards. Moose shoulders tend not to be kind to bullets. I'd have no worries with a 150 on elk (or moose) in the 270.
