Anyone ever use these from SPS? How do they shoot compared to non-blems?

The 30 cal 180's are a heck of a deal.

I have used them for maybe 15 years without reservation.

They are discolored and or stained,have different tips or maybe a different place for crimping.
But one thing in common is they will shoot just fine.

Any issues with the location of the cannelure?

Been using them for 10 years or so, no problems at all. Might make a difference for match shooting, but they work great for hunting.

30 cal 180gr Partition.

Grab'em when you can because the popular caliber 2nds tend to go quickly now. It's nice to shoot AB's or NPT's blems at NBT 1st prices. I use them almost exclusively, although it's harder to always get what I need with current conditions.

No issues with them for me concerning performance or accuracy. When I do get some with a cannelure, I ignore it and seat the bullet where I need to.

Bill, good question but I'm surprised more people don't know about these and use them. I've had excellent success with these. Some of the "blems" show no noticeable blemishes, but may have a cannelure, some of the 270 150gr. partitions I've been buying lately show deformation of the lead tip, but they still shoot good. Here's what I've experienced with the blemished partitions:

Like I've said before, at $16.30/bag, it's damn hard to say no to those 30 cal 180gr. partitons!!

I've bought a ton of Nosler seconds and I have looked them over upon arrival I often wondered why they were rejected in the first place. They shoot just fine.

I love em. Never had a bad one that I could tell.

It all I've shoot for years in several calibers and they shoot well.

Don't buy any so there will be more for me to buy

I have several thousand on hand, very happy the blems are availible.

I shoot the 140 gr. Partition blems in my 7mm-08. Accurate and deadly. I'm watching for some more of them.

I know I have several hundred more on hand after you pm'd me they were selling some for my rifle. My wallet thanks you buddy!!!! I don't know if I meant that as a good thing or bad..

If we could get them to cook up a batch of .358" 225 NAB's and get them to bring back the .458" 300gr Partition I would be lighter on spending money also.

I have been on the look out for these and the AB's.

243 'blem' target. 5-rounds with my 600 Remington. Also use them in my 25-06's (2 of them), 7mm-08, 30-06 and 300 WM. Always on the lookout for more.

I really think it is dependant on the slug you're purchasing. I have had great luck with the Nosler BTs seconds when hunting and couldn't ask for better accuracy.

However, I bought some of the .30 cal 168gr Custom Competition bullets and I haven't been able to get them to group any better than .75-1" in two different .308 barrels. I measured the ogive on them and they vary as much as .010". This has made this buyer beware. I'll stick with Sierra and firsts when shooting for accuracy.

In general I shoot rodents with Hornady Vmax blems and ruminants with non-blem Nosler ballistic tip.

Don't confuse me with any facts, I have a working system.

Nosler blems? I can only speak to results. All AB's short of the open sighted 8x57 that used the 180 gr BT.

Wowza! Nice shootin' guys. Sure wish someone would sell me some .284 160/140AB blems.......(hint, hint)!

If I were home, I certainly would as I have a bunch of 160's. Won't be home until October or so.

One shot Noz group. Tonsil shot was the only thing she offered.. Makes for a short blood trail.

I buy lots of nosler blems and I've had good luck with most of them. I have occasionally got a lot that I couldn't get to shoot in several rifles.

I don't buy the hornady blems from midway much anymore. I had some that didn't shoot well at all. I loaded the same load with 1sts and they shot much better. I called hornady and their tech told me that a lot of the seconds that go to midway are batches that failed their accuracy standards. He said they were also mixed lots.

I've killed 3 elk with NAB 2nds.
