I have not found a truly good load for these in my .300WM and am wondering if anyone has advice.

I've been staying off the lands much like the Barnes mono's due to mag box length.

I've tried RL22, IMR7828, and H4831ssc. Found some huntable loads but nothing worth much if trying to go long.

Anyone having success with these?

Loaded some in a friends 300 WBY with starting load of H1000 in Nosler 7 book at nosler suggested length. They shot under a half inch at 100 going just over 3000 fps. Due to the deep seating depth and long bullet the case can't take much more powder if any. However in a 300 WM if they were seated out a little further they could be pretty similar. If I have time I'll load a few for my dads 300WM.

Two suggestions:

Try some groups with the bullet at different seating depths. I once worked up some loads with the 130 E-Tip in the .270 Weatherby, and because of the "freebore" the bullets were simply seated out as far as they could be in the magazine. Groups were around 1-1/2", so I started seating the bullets slightly deeper for each group. Groups started shrinking until they were around 1/2" to 3/4".

But once in a while a barrel simply won't match up well with cylinder-shank monolithic bullets, and trying different powders doesn't seem to have any effect. E-Tips have shot well in maybe 85% of the rifles I've tried them in, but once in a while they just don't.

Thanks Guys.

Not sure if I have any more H1000 but will look.

I was concerned I'm "jumping" too far. My box length combined with the freebore make getting closer impossible.

In My 300 win mag .030 off the lands with 80gr of H1000 was The best load I found.

Thanks Baltz, I'm farther out than that just staying at mag box length.

Might have to check into a longer box.
