Anyone know why Midway has these on clearance ?. Just wondering if Nosler is up to something.

Take care.

Sorry if this has already been discussed.

They did the same thing with some Barnes bullets last month. After the sale was over, they bumped back up to full price and still were in stock. Maybe it's their way of clearing out old stock if sku numbers or prices change.

A retailer as big as Midway places orders several months in advance, if a new shipment of NABs are scheduled to arrive in a couple of weeks and they have sold fewer than expected the last few months, they have to fire sale the old stock in order to make space for the new. That or store the new which pretty much gums up the works and of course they'll have another order incoming before long which can add to the problem.

Add to that the chaos of the last 7 years and I imagine they are having a tough time making accurate sales projections.

I have noticed this a couple of times with Midway - an item is on "clearance" then when you look again a couple weeks later it's back to the regular price and available for order. Wouldn't read any more into it myself.

Sometimes they clear out items that are in old packaging when a manufacturer switches up to new packaging.

They'll often put a clearance price up and actually include a message of how many units are available at that price. As soon as those sell, they are back to the normal price.

I hypothesize that it has to do with inventory management as discussed above, or just storage. If they have a shelf location in the warehouse that will hold N units, and they end up with N+3 units in stock, they blow out three units and can then have that second shelf location available for some other product. Or maybe they have a target for number of "turns" (units sold per period of time), they'll bump a few out the door to keep on track.

Or something.

In any case, 20 percent off isn't a "get rid of them all" price by any means.

Midway and I have become close friends as well. We all have our weaknesses.
