During normal load development I find the most accurate charge weight first and then tweak the COAL to find the most optimum seating depth.

My question is, if you decide to switch powders do you keep the original COAL? Do you believe that the optimum COAL you found with the first powder will still be the optimum COAL with the second powder? Or do you start over with respect to COAL?

I recently tried a powder switch but I kept the same COAL. I didn't find any great results with the new powder but I'm wondering if I short changed it by not testing COAL changes? Normally I would but I'm not sure if there was enough accuracy there to bother with.

I'm about to try a third powder and am just wondering what you guys think?

Thanks.
When I switch powders, I thoroughly expect to have to tweak the COL. It's starting all over from scratch, first play with charge and then play with COL.
Thanks.

Many times with this rifle I find the optimum COAL to be between 0.030 and 0.040 from the lands. I guess I was just wondering if I could get away with being lazy and only adjusting the powder charge...
