What powders are showing good results in the 22 Creed with 70 gr class bullets.

I have a 8 twist 26 inch barrel on a Savage 12 single shot.

My first thought is R 19. I have a couple pounds on hand. I also have 2 lb each of IMR 4831, H 4831, and Superformance.

Also present is one pound of H4895, and one pound of H100V.

There is some slower stuff on hand, but I did not think slower than H4831 would be applicable to this task.

Any suggestions?

I've used h4350 and RL-17 in mine with those weight bullets with no complaints. 4831 should work OK too

The Hodgdon's annual manual shows impressive velocities with Superformance. I will have to give it a try.

I was surprised that manual shows burn rates as slow as Magnum and MagPro with 70s.

I have a couple pounds of Magpro. But unless it refuses to group, it will all be inside 7 RM cases under 162 gr bullets by the end of the week.

I've heard of other people having good luck with superformance in the 22 creedmoor.

I've had good luck with staball 6.5 in my 22-250 ackley so I think I may mess with that in the 22 creedmoor as well.

Keep us posted on your findings
