Im getting my K hornet ready to shoot, I have a supply of 35 gr. Hor. v Max & believe it or not a couple a lbs. of w680 , Does anyone have any data for w680 in the K hornet?

The case capacities of the standard and the "K" Hornet are about the same. So, I would use standard Hornet data and work up.
I have 3 Hornets but no "K"'s. I've nver used 680 in any Hornet either, so I can't help you with that powder.
Have fun with the "K".

Paperkiller,

ADI (Australian Defence Industries) reloading guide see:-

www.adi-limited.com/handloaders-guide/

This lists 22K Hornet loads for their powders:- AR2205 (similar burning rate to IMR4227 & H4227) and AR2207 (which is supposedly very similar in burn rate to W680, Re 7 & IMR/H4198) according to ADI's equivalent burning rate chart found at the back of the downloadable manual ....you could use this as a guide.... subject to discretion....

I dont know if AR2205 & AR2207 are rebadged in the US... Hodgdon 'Varget' (that you all know and love) is actually made in Australia and is ADI AR2208 and H4895 is ADI AR2206H....

Cheers
Peter

If you are starting with standard Hornet brass and will fireform it, use standard Hornet data for the first firing. There's no data for an old powder with a new bullet, but my Speer #9 manual shows W680 at 11 to 12.0 with a 40-gr bullet. You ought to be able to use that with a 35-grainer safely.

Assuming so, you can then work up in safe increments until you better your velocity by perhaps 5%. I'd use 0.2-gr increments (about 2% of the expected max of about 13.0, rounded down) and look for a final velocity of about 3150 or so (105% of factory 3000 fps Hornet loads with that bullet).
