Has anyone had any luck with it? Im thinking some 55gr fmj and sp will do good. What other powders have you had good luck with in 223?

Yep, I've used it in my 223 and it worked good. Mine is a ruger Hawkeye with a 1 in 9" twist barrel. Here's a load it likes using BLC-2 powder:

I've also loaded up the 55 gr. FMJ's in it with blc-2 powder and it was very accurate.

I load a stiffer charge using old data in a bolt action...

using SPs instead of FMJs I get a lot more accurate shooter...

Its a good powder as is W 748 also...

both have been around a long time

I have shot a bunch of it, but it is a dirty powder..my favorite is H4895 or Varget..my pals shoot AA2230..get some great speeds, bought a pound, but haven't shot it yet...

The thing I never liked about it is that its got about the most static in a powder measure (even a "seasoned" one) I've ever used.

Do you have BLC2 on hand ?????? if you do by all means use it, if not there are many better powder's that are cleaner burning and less temp sensitive.

For 55 grainer's I like Benchmark, RL10x or VVN133
For the heavies I like Varget or RL15, would never use BLC2 unless it was in my inventory

I like 748. Shoots good in my LTR and AR. 50 AND 55 gr bullets. Tried 2230 with 55 gr FMJ and it did ok for blasting but did not try it for accuracy. Don't see why it would not perform good either. Used to shoot BLC2 in a .222 rem and it shot real good with 50 gr Nosler HP's

I use Benchmark for 55 gr. down and Varget above 55 gr. Both are clean burning, produce good velocity and accuracy and are both "Extreme" powders which I like. I've tried some others such as 748, TAC, 8208, but the two mentioned above work best in the rifles I load for. Oops! Not supposed to end a sentence with a preposition, but sometimes it works out that way.

Yes I have used it. Loading data close to H335 but 335 in my experience is cleaner. I like both 2230 and 748 better. If buying powder I would try 2 of the Ramshot powders. Check their website for information.

I dont currently have it in stock but can get about 6-8lbs of it for about $5 per pound from a buddy who says he is never gonna use it. For that price I thought it would be worth a try
I do have some Varget that I could use..

I'd sure jump on that.. I burn a fair amount of BLC2... its a good powder for 6mm Rem, 260 and 7/08, 7 x 57, and 6.5 x 55 and x 57.

I've used it in a .222Rem with 50's with good luck. temp sensitive/dirty is the only downside.
