Whats your favorite especially if you load for a TIKKA!
I don't use a Tikka, but 27.5gr. of IMR 4895 shoots pretty good in a Savage factory barrel, and likewise in a CZ barrel. I use 205M primers and WW cases.
I've set up a number of Howa, Savage, and some custom barreled guns in the 204 Ruger caliber. With each gun I've found the best blend of accuracy, speed, and great performance in a prairie dog town with 27.2 grains of H4895, Winchester cases, and a Federal 205M primer.
27.4gr H4895, federal match primer in Winchester brass. Shoots sub 0.5" from my XR-100
Bought some Fiocchi 40 gr. ammo for a Ruger Hawkeye Ultralight. Surprised me they showed pressure signs, flattened primers, bolt shine on cartridge head, Im hoping h4895 groups well as I use that powder in 17 remington and 9.3x62, both give great accuarcy and velocity with said powder.
29 grains IMR 4320 and 32 grain Nosler BT with Rem 7.5's and Win brass.
24.4 grains R10X

Good luck!

thanks I'll get some loaded up and give thma try.
26.5 Gr. of Reloader 10X. 3876 fps out of my Cooper. Puts them in one ragged hole at 100 yds. Love the 39 gr. Sierra for groundhogs. A real killer.
39 BK is the best for normally-throated 204s, as you can actually reach the throat from the case with them.
Right now I have a Ruger M 77 in the shop, it was a problem child and is getting the third chamber (custom) on the second barrel. But I had the best luck with TAC and Varget -- however with Varget filling the case is an issue as the sticks in the powder sometimes stack.
So I would definitely try a pound of TAC in your experiments.
39 grain Sierra ... 27.5 grains of Varget, WW brass, Rem 7-1/2 primers. 5 shots go between .3 and .5 inch center to center.

This case / powder / charge weight / primer combination works very well with the 40 grain Nosler and 40 grain Hornady in my gun. Seems to be a "sweet spot" at least in my gun.

It does the same thing with all 32 grainers and 28 grains of H335, but you didn't ask about that.

TOM , hows the speed with that load of Varget?
27.0 grains IMR4895
I have a Cooper and I load 27 grains v-135 rem 7-1/2 primers with a 39 gr Sierra bk for 3840 fps. Very accuate.
I use 26 gr of H4895 in my 204 with Rem 7.5 BR and Win Brass.

I've never run it over a chronograph. I suspect it is probably ballpark 3600 fps.

Tom
28gr of Varget. G
Update 27.5 grains of blc2 gets it done velocity wise. 3725. Will have to test for accuracy
My two favorite powders for faster velocities is RL 7 and H 322....4198 for a fast second place honor...
I just loaded some 39ers with 4198gotta go try them!
Careful with 4198! You can go from hero to zero with just a little too much.
Good velocities and accuracy with 39's using I8208, I4895, or H4895 in 2 204's.
The 39 bk with a max dose of h4895 is the most accurate load I have found in 2 CZ's. The 40 BT with Ar-comp is still well under 1/2" and harder on yotes.
