Loads?

Results?

Good for fur?

Good for shooting pigs in the face?

What say you Campfire loonies?

I don't know, but I've been meaning to use one. I have a few boxes of 250.
Posted By: Big Stick Re: 60 gr. NBT in 223AI - 08/15/14
I'd rather 62X,by a goodly margin.

28grs of '335 in all of mine in twist 7,8 and 9"...even with the shortest throat.............

Gonna be shooting some varmints as well as pigs, don't wanna use up the TSXs on the little dudes

But thanks guys.

That damn H335 is the 'go to' load in my rifles whilst shooting TSXsfound out its giving me the velocity with Barnes that others aren't.otherwise I hate that stuff... grin

After killing a few pigs and seeing the vital area between the eyes on an 'eater' is only a couple inches wide, I came to the conclusion that just about any bullet landed in there will blow it up, and a 60 grainer on the smaller ones oughta put a cavity through the body cavityif need be.

Every time I buy something other than 335 for my SAAMI 223 I wish I hadn't
Posted By: ingwe Re: 60 gr. NBT in 223AI - 08/16/14
I can't say the same but it shire do produce the velocity and accuracy for the hunting loads! It is indeed my 'go to' for TSXs...

If not a 62TSX...I'd just as soon stay 50V-Max................

26.7 Varget in the above rifles and a Montana as well, Montana prefers '335 both loads very accurate. All SAAMI, 'AI only gets fed 75 'Max, that kills the siht out of pigs for conversation. Nothing fur friendly about it, blows siht up like any other B-tip or V-max. Wouldn't hesitate to use it on deer or pigs.

Odd you say thatthus far, if it isn't gonna get a TTSX, my load is a 50 V-max.got three AIs and they all like the same load.Cant argue with that.

I'm sure the 50 Vmax would do what I have in mind this timebut I just gotta fugg with stuff.

That's my poison, 26.5 H335 , 50 vmax. A titch under 3500fps and just as accurate as I can shoot.
Posted By: ingwe Re: 60 gr. NBT in 223AI - 08/16/14
Getting the same out of 28.0 gr IMR 4895. grin
Shoots better than I can...

I shoot 30grs of '335 in all (13) of mine...twist rates ranging from 7-14",with most stops in between.................
Posted By: ingwe Re: 60 gr. NBT in 223AI - 08/16/14
I eased and oozed mine up to 30 grains but thats where we stopped and backed off, primers blown and all the bad stuff you hear about 335 happened. Must be cause its so hot here grin

The 55TTSX LOVES 28.5 grains ..

3500fps 50's is SAAMI 223 Territory and I'm not going to form cases, simply to yank spark plugs...though noone loves to form cases more than I. Hint.

Whats that hole in the middle for?

On another note, I have discovered the ultimate, consummate shoot pigs in the face load using 60 gr NBTs.

Cant wait to try it out.

335 is a bitch here in the Texas heat. 8208xbr takes its place very nicely with both the 62 ttsx and the 75's amax/hpbt - but be careful, when you reach the max it comes quick!
Posted By: Big Stick Re: 60 gr. NBT in 223AI - 08/18/14
I like my 62's at 3400 and my 75's at 3100+.

Bushed firing pin, tight headspace allows you to reach the top end pressure(accuracy) node....you have to see it to believe it. Call Greg Tannel of Gre-Tan rifles for the fix.

Now start at the start, reamer design = tight throat dia(.2245), minimum freebore(compress the 75's, stuff the bullet in the case), tight body on the reamer(minimum SAAMI match specs), Dia at the web(+.002) the brand of brass you are using...expect nothing but stellar results on what's to follow!

Dave Kiff makes the reamers for Redding's dies....Match reamer specs to dies!

Big Hint!
