COL for Hornady 223 55 gr SP? - 11/12/15
Anyone have a Hornady manual? I need their col for the 55 SP. I've been loading the V-Max at 2.260 in my Tikka 223 but that's too much for this bullet.

Hornady 9th Edition shows three different 55gr SPs. ; the SP, SP SX, and the SP w/c.
In the 223 Remington the C.O.L for all three bullets is shown as 2.200".
FWIW the 55gr V-Max is listed at 2.250"

What? It won't chamber at 2.26?
Lucky you, that means you have a nice short throat.
Then what you might want to do is play around and find the length at which it does without marking the bullet. That's usually close to best fit and best accuracy.
