I'm shooting 75 amax bullet 1-8 twist anyone using varmint or cfe? What's your favorite powder? It's in a 21 inch Bruce, thanks for any info
Leverevolution is pretty bad ass under a 75 Amax.
Ok thanks I appreciate I find some data
RL-15. 26.2 gr behind a 75 AMAX.
Thanks guys, I used some imr3031 yesterday and had a .485 5 shot group but didn't chrono it, I appreciate the feed back
Nice! Ya know I used to shoot quite a bit of 3031....kind of bulky and not particularly temp sensitive, but shot really well for me in quite a few different cartridge combos.
Yes I'd like to find something in the extreme powders that works , here in Texas we varmint hunt at night so it may be 70 in the day and 20's at night

26.5 RL15 for mine with the 77 SMK. Shoots 3/4" for five at 300 yards. It's got a 21" barrel IIRC.
Thanks I'll get some of these powders , I appreciate yall

Any insight as to the temperature stability of Leverevolution?
Thanks,

Not for sure but Hodgdon doesn't list it amongst their "extreme" powders....so I would think its not completely temp stable.

Yeah, it's not. I've had things get a little "western" a few times. Backed down a scosh and all is well.
I just picked up a 223 ai. I have been fire forming with benchmark (23.5g) and 69 Sierra tmk. Winchester case and cci primers. This produces 2920 fps in my rifle with a 26 inch barrel. I loaded some fire formed cases with blc2 and made a chart using a velocity of 3230. I shot 2 inches high At five hundred yards. So I guess I must have been shooting a little faster than 3230. This was with a 69 tmk also.
222ND What was your load in the blc2?

I can't say for sure, the day that I picked it up I was pretty anxious to see if this thing would achieve the velocity threshold that I was after. So I did a shoot and clean with twenty rounds of fiochi factory rnds and loaded them with 1 grain above max according to an older Sierra manual which would have been a load for the original 69 grain matching. I have an aquatence that built this same setup and he is getting about 3250 using tac. There is no tac to be had around here right now so I'm going to try benchmark with my fire formed brass. I got tired of losing 22-250 brass shooting at coyotes so when I found out I could get within 100 fps with this 223 ai I had one built. So far I couldn't be happier. Ps. Blc2 is pretty dirty so I don't plan on going back to it unless I can't get my velocity from a cleaner powder. The blc2 did shoot very well though. A 3.25 inch group at 500 yards.
Ok thanks , so far all I've really tried was varget it was ok, h335 it was terrible, and imr3031 it was def the best so far on my 75 Amax just behind the lands
I used to shoot 75 aMax's out an improved 22-250 and they were great coyote bullets.

how many grains you loading?
27.8 grains, Rem brass and CCI 400
I've been shooting leverevolution with 75 amax's and have been really happy. I worked up the load in 90 degree weather and checked a couple the other day when it was in the mid 30s and I'd lost right at 50 FPS. I can live with that
RL-15 hint. Better than Varget for this application and more dense. I get 3150 fps from a 21" barrel with 75's.
