Well I got three new loads worked up today for the swift and got to try them out. All 3 were with H 414 and 50 grain Hornady V-Max bullets and all were seated at 3.450 OAL with the use of a Hornady comparator. The first one I tried was 43 grains and it was pretty good but nothing earth shattering. 5 shot group measured .935 I think and 3 shot was .43 something. Next was 41 grains and it was better. 4 shots measured .48ish. Finally it was 42 grains of H 414 and it was as good as the 41 grain load with 4 shots measuring under a half inch. Granted these aren't one holers but I think its a start. If my measurements are correct I should be about .010 off the lands but they seemed a bit snug in the chamber. I might try the same loads and back them off another .010 and see what happens.

My current slow twist swift refuses to shoot any 50 grainers, my magic load is 42.5gr H414 with 55gr Blitzkings, might want to try a 55gr just to see.

.23 off of max COL sounds to be seated just a bit deep.

44.5G OF 414 IS MAGIC WITH 50g noslers, your oal needs to be touching the lands if possible

best accuracy will be .5g off of max load for the rifle with your lot of powder.
