Maybe you could clarify what you're looking for exactly. With that combo, I'm guessing subsonic loads, and hopefully in a bolt action or single shot? That would be a really poor combo in either supersonic loads or a semi-auto.

If you're looking for a quiet subsonic load, that combo will work fine, but you're going to need to work down a load for your barrel. Notice I said "work down"; do not attempt to work "up" for subsonic loads, especially with jacketed bullets. Sticking a bullet in the barrel is no fun. You may end up anywhere between 5-7 grains Unique with that bullet; start on the high end and work down to 1000-1030 fps.

Have 2lbs of unique and bulllletds ranging from 125g 150g 160g and 200g. Looking the best load.

Thank you.

Hey Dave,

Welcome to the "fire". Hope to shoot that that thing if I make it up later this month.

"Best load" for what? We can't help you if you can't say what you're looking for.

Unique is a terrible choice for supersonic loads in the 300, there is no "best load" with it. Are you looking for subsonic loads? What are you shooting it in, and how long is the barrel? See my post above.

AAC micro 7 (remington 7) 16.5 inch barrel

Tried 5g 6g and 7g of unique as suggested. Best results were in the 7g unique on the 150g Speer grand slam. Loved this recipe.

Thanks for that. Anymore advice on this rifle and ammo combination please let me know. I am open to the education. Im an new to this and looking for guidance.

Thanks.
Also thanks, have 10 pounds of Unique and sold my 16 gauge to buy a 300 blackout.

OK, since you're using a bolt gun, and apparently looking for subsonic or at least low-velocity loads - this is a great application for cast bullets if you're wanting to shoot a little cheaper.

Also take a look at Hornady's 90gr XTP and 100gr half-jacket bullets; loaded over a small charge of Bullseye these make great quiet small game rounds. You could probably use Unique too, but will have to experiment a little.
