I am thinning the herd and this LSA is on the block. The rifle is chambered in 243 Win. The metal is in good condition with only minor marks, a rub in the bluing about mid barrel(vehicle rifle rack?) and a scratch on L side of receiver.
However someone took off the front and rear sites. The wood has several scratches and dings, nothing horrid but never the less there are several of them. Barrel is of Bofors steel. There is one magazine with the rifle. Everything fuctions
as it should and the rifle will shoot 1 MOA with select handloads, I didn't try any factory ammo. The rings will go with the rifle but I am keeping the scope unless you want to add an additional $200. Scope is a Leupold M8 6x with a
Duplex reticle. As you see it the rifle weighs 7 pounds 4 ounces. I would like to get $700 shipped for this rifle. If your FFL won't receive from me add $50 to come from my FFL. Pics will be forthcoming.
Thank you.
That's a buy, can't believe still here
I will throw in some brass
Maybe they don't realize that this is a Sako rifle.
No,some of us just don’t have the cash at the moment…
Maybe they don't realize that this is a Sako rifle.
Probably because it's an early 70s Tikka.
I have the LSA 65 long action version in 30-06 and it is an exceptionally nicely built rifle. Stacks 155 Scenars quite nicely. These are sleepers in the rifle world. Most don't have any idea about them.
By the way, reference rings/bases. Out of curiosity one day, I checked and the hole spacing was the exact same for a T3. My LSA wears Talley one piece rings for a T3.
That made life easy.
Maybe they don't realize that this is a Sako rifle.
Probably because it's an early 70s Tikka.
You are correct.
Tikka/Sako,Sako/Tikka…
I know I have to quit looking at it
Keep looking. :-)
This rifle has the milled slot as a ring mount. No holes in the rings or receiver.
Last I looked these rings were close to $100/set.
Trying to list pic of three shot group. Rifles are excellent values that was my 308. I have one in 243 also and it shoots the same and love it.

Thank you. The listed rifle will shot that well, not sure I can consistently.
$650 shipped w/ brass and reloading dies:-)
Friday night.....See you folks Sunday
These early Tikka's are real sleepers
Most don't know what they are......
GLWYS !
Nice pics too.....
Made it back home before tomorrow!:-)
LOP is 13 1/2" over the recoil pad. I can't figure out the "need" for that.
Thank you tikkanut.

You missed the Sunday sale!

This is a great deal and a great rifle
Weekend sale! $550 for rifle, brass and a set of RCBS dies
What is the twist rate, would it handle 105 grain bullets?
Does anyone know if this Bofors steel would be a good candidate for a rebore to 358? I have watched this for to long but really am not a 243 fan.
I have several LSA-55’s and calling these rifles sleepers is an under statement. Mine are probably cosmetically nicer but otherwise I’d never consider letting my 6 Rem or 222 go more short money like this. These were early designed and made Tikka rifles before Sako stepped in and bought out Oy Tikkakowski and his operation. The quality is as good as anything that was offered back then and they shoot. So compared to today’s quality these rifles are a no brainer and the Bofor steel barrels are legendary for endurance and accuracy. The 6 Rem is a 1-91/2 “ twist. Ithaca was famous for re-badging back then and offered very nice rifles and shotguns. Think Perazzi.
Thank you Woodpecker. Everything you said is true and I believe this rifle is also 1-91/2 twist. Don't know that I would so a 358 rebore.
Barrel OD at the muzzle is 0.628".
Would make a dandy re-bore to 260 Rem...That would also make it elk capable with one of the copper mono's. Think Barne's, or a Hammer bullet. WOW !!
Monday must be a part of the weekend.
For the life of me can’t figure how anyone would buy a new plastic stock garbage rifle when there are deals like this to be had
If I remember these had a nice palm swell grip the feel real nice
Guys this is a perfict canadate for a rebarrel
And ultimate Finland guality rifle
If the weekend price is still valid, I'll take it
Marksman you’ve got yourself one fine rifle. When you receive it you will notice a long list of features that makes these rifles so special. First off a magazine that is actually of better quality and construction than most of today’s guns. Free floated barrel and superbly made and designed recoil lug and a glass smooth action just compare.
Thanks woodpecker! I have a penchant for Sako rifles, and after the briefest hint of research I realized I wanted this. I certainly don't need it, as I just picked up an old Browning High Power Safari grade in .243, but I think this would nicely complement the Browning don't you?
yep
ya got a solid old Sako/Tikka
enjoy !
SPF to marksman1941!
Thank you
I have a LSA55 22-250 you will like it.
