The fast growth can be used for wildlife habitat, screening, windbreaks, shade, and other uses. 10 for $220 dollars, planting height is 5 feet tall and can be over 10 feet tall by fall. Does not sucker or seed. Hardy in a lot of the country, plant hardiness zones 3-9.

How do they grow in sandy soul?

If its dry sandy soils, best to irrigate them while young until they get established. Also can help conserve moisture with mulch and keeping vegetation free early on. They will have drought tolerance as they get established.

Can they be planted in the summer months in the North Zone (Michigan)?

yes, but preferably spring. the worst months to plant would be july/august.
