.38 Special Heavy Wadcutter ammo

Friends,

I have a very small batch of the .38 Special Heavy Wadcutter ammo.

Like all the ammo sold, these are sold in 100 round increments.
I have 600 rounds.

This was produced in new Starline brass and features a 148 grain full wadcutter.

****** QUICK UPDATE****

From here forward the ammo will be shipping in 50 round traditional boxes, rather than the 100 round Berry's and MTM plastic boxes previously used. Every now and then breakage was occurring due to the extreme handling by the shippers.

For those not familiar, a little background. The short version is that the very vast majority of JHP/defense ammo will not expand out of short barreled revolvers. It also has very erratic and inconsistent penetration. For that reason many knowledgeable shooters have long carried wadcutters in their J Frames and short barreled revolvers due to the fact that they have extremely consistent performance and penetrate straight and deep.

These loads are safe for any modern firearm in proper working condition, and loads were tested in a couple different J Frame Model 442s with 1 & 7/8ths " barrels as well as larger framed .38s.

These are pretty potent for wadcutters, and I tested them in Airweight 1 & 7/8ths" J frames as well as 4" and 6" guns.

Velocity is as follows:

J Frame: 820 FPS
4" K Frame: 885 FPS
6" Ruger Security 6: 950 FPS

Usually the standard factory wadcutter ammo (Remington/Winchester) is in the high 600s low 700s when fired from a 2" revolver, so this will certainly do the job and penetrate deep and straight.

Price includes shipping and insurance.

I have 600 rounds.

It is $100 for 100 rounds, or $200 for 200 rounds to your door, which after S&I works out to about $40 per box of 50.

**Shipping in traditional 50 round boxes, not the plastic boxes shown.

Post the amount you want followed with a PM, so I can keep track please.

I take Venmo, USPS Money order, or checks (once cleared by the bank). I do not take paypal. I am working on a website, and should have it up soon.

* No, I don't sell them in boxes of 20. The shipping (not to mention packaging) is so costly that it makes no sense to do so .

You have to be 21 since it is handgun ammo. Will only ship to places where legal and it is your responsibility to know your local laws. No shipping to restricted states or jurisdictions. CONUS only, and I do not ship to, MA, DC, CT, CA or other locations with restrictions.

BEFORE YOU SEND A PM, READ THE FAQS PLEASE.

If wadcutters don’t look right in a carry gun go ‘plinkin’ with some. I’ve loaded some similar rounds as MS with hard cast 148 coated and 5.5gr Power Pistol. Was shooting some with a new shooter and my wife Saturday. Shot some firewood chunks and had a pine log laying down with some 3” to 4” limb bases gone rich. We blasted away. The wadcutters just blasted chunks of wood out the back side. Some of the limbs would look fine on the front with 38 holes. The backs would be pretty much gone. Don’t get shot with one.

I actually will be producing more this next week when I get a shipment of brass in. This heavy wadcutter load has been extremely popular.

In fact the very last box I held back and donated to a young lady who will be graduating H.S next week and is on her way to college in Montana. Her mom got her a 5 shot J Frame Smith as a graduation gift and I sent her some practice ammo, as well as some heavy wadcutters for carry. A good piece of gear for her, and peace of mind for her mom. smile

What a great thing for you to do. Provide ammo for protection.
