I have 2 CZ hornets first a 17 hornet 527 varmint with probably one of the prettiest pieces of factory wood I've ever seen that is like new and a 22 hornet 527 American it is like new as well. I'm looking for a 5 String Gibson I'll be more than happy to send you pictures by text or email. I'm wanting to upgrade my son's banjo since he enjoys playing so much. Here's a short video of him playing.
Some very talented Kiddos there !!!
Would you sell one of the 17s?

Yes they are. I wished I had the talent they had in just their pinky.
Fine show there!
Possible the 22 hornet for me. Forgot to add, good listening there. The future is bright for them
Gibson Mastertone's are really pricy. Get a real banjo player to ask around for anything available. I'll see if there are any in this area. Branson is a good source also sometimes. Good luck!
I'm pretty aware of the price on Gibsons. My dad has 13 of them but prying one from him is impossible. He's been playing for 50 plus years. I use to play a little but never could come close to my son's talent and he's been playing less than 6 months. If I can trade on one I will if not I'll buy one out right.

The funny thing is they were competing in individual categories and had never met until about 30 minutes before the competition started. They decided to enter as a band and won first place with only a little practice together but they are all three great young musicians they definitely will do nothing but get better for sure.
What a great group!
Hope you find one for him.

He has 13 but not one for his grandson?????? What am I missing here. 🤔 Your son’s doing a heck of a job for just 6 months playing. My home was in Galax so no stranger to good fiddle’n banjo playing.
Good luck in your search.
Great video!

Please don't think that my dad is selfish in any regard. The first two banjos my son got was from him. But he does tend to hold on to things more than I would so him parting with a Gibson or Huber would be a task and plus I'm his dad and I do what I can and would like to get him one. We'll be in Galax in August I'm sure he's excited about going. We live about an hour away. Thanks to everyone for the compliments I'm sure the 5 years of piano helped him out a little.

Thanks I'm trying my best. Brian
Clinch Mountain Backstep is a great tune!!
That was great!
Have you checked with Sweetwater to see what they have?
Good on you for supporting your sons interests even though it’s not firearm related. What a talented young man!!!
I'm interested in the 22 Hornet if you don't get a trade offer.

He gets plenty of support in firearms, hunting and flyfishing as well. He's actually a pretty well rounded young man.

Ranger I'll let you know if I decide to sell.

It is a very appropriate tune to play too at the competition considering it's right in our back yard so to speak. He played Dixie breakdown when he played in the banjo category just to play something different from what most competitors would play.

Nice version of "Old Joe Clark" I believe. Great to see the kids keeping up the tradition!
Up for the night
That’s was very enjoyable, thanks for posting.

Let me take a look around these parts and see what may be hiding out. There is a fair amount of bluegrass in the area.
Thanks!!!
