The pictures I took kind of sucked. If anyone wants better PM me.
This is a very nice well balanced, good shooting rifle. Top notch build in great condition
seems like a lot of gun for the money
Was thinking the same thing Gene.
That's a really nice rifle.
If I were you, I'd be asking more.
I think it's worth more.
I have a really nice 338-06 or I would have bought this one.
Barrel length? I'm assuming 1-10" twist?
24" LOP is 13 5/8. Yes 10 twist
Couple of more photos
Bottom metal pic
you cannot build this rifle even close to the selling price. great value if you are looking for a nice elk cartridge. Clean VZ24 actions are bringing nearly $500, and the stock and barrel work incl bluing is $1000. Timney $100, dies and brass and bullets $150? Talley setup $100. Commercial bottom metal too. Good luck with the sale.
Thanks. The Rimrock stock designed by Jim Cloward is by far the best stock Mauser stock ever designed.
Very nice, if you are contemplating a 338-06, you should jump on this one.
I already have three built on Model 70 Classic actions, so I am not in the market.
Thanks. The Rimrock stock designed by Jim Cloward is by far the best stock Mauser stock ever designed.
Actually designed by Al Biesen. Jim Cloward built the first molds off of his design and they were built on Vashon Island by Pacific Research Labs.
I agree about being the best.
Regards,
Bob.

Thanks. I did not know Al had a hand in the design. I know Cloward used a lot of them for his customs.
Very nice just too short Lop for me.
What an excellent rifle! This is the type of rifle that quickly becomes a guy’s go-to gun.
Up. yes it's a great rifle
Someone needs to buy this. Wow what a value.
Someone needs to buy this. Wow what a value.
Thought the same many times.
I'm surprised this hasn't sold.
People on here must not need a 338-06. They work great on all the critters in North America.
I never feel under gunned when I'm carrying this in the woods after deer and elk and there are Grizzlies in the area.
Got to love hunting in Montana.
Take care.
Bump.
"They work great on all the critters in North America." I have used mine many times in the South African bushveld (where shots max out at 250 yards) for all manner of plainsgame. IMO, with 250 Nosler Partitions, it is the best of the medium bores with a very good balance of power and recoil, and duplicates or surpasses the great .318 WR.
Up once more. Great rifle
Always wanted a 338-06, but just depleted my mad money on a Kimber. Good luck with your sale
If anyone wants great rifle in a great caliber this is a great deal. I have a 338/06 in a pre 64 mod 70 FW Rebore. Rebore, Pendleton stock, and Cera coat. Custon work and stock was most of his price. 7 or 8 years ago. And I had to come up with doner pre 64 70. A great elk rifle and caliber here in western Washington or really anywhere you would want to hunt. I shot a couple elk and a bear with 338/06. just deflated them. Really a wonder this caliber isn't more popular. Rifle package with reloading gear and load devilments. and rifle shoots 3/4 in group is a huge value on its own.
Brno VZ24 is one of the best of the 98s for custom builds. I have no dog in the hunt but if a guy is a bargen shopper this is one to jump on. To the wright person that Pacific research stock is worth most of his asking price. I have a 338/06, 9.3x62, 375 H&H already or Ida bought this one already. And I am a Bargen shopper. (CHEAP)
I asked an old gunsmith one time the difference in a $15000.00-dollar Mauser and a 1000.00-dollar Mauser. The first guy that bought it. Not all cases but more fact than fiction. To the seller good luck.
Thanks. It is a good setup. Top to bottom
Hey can you please message me. I can't PM on here because I'm too junior member. 816-547-2334. I'd like a few more pic if possible and have a couple of questions. thanks
I'm also in the middle of a JES rebore project but with a M70 action - kind of wish I had delayed it now. Wouldn't change a thing on this one. Being a flat-lander from SC, would I be wrong thinking this rig is perfect for a mountain timber elk rifle?
Can't tell from the pics. What kind of safety is installed?
I believe its a Buehler. Not sure if they still make them. Works great
Damn nice rifle here
I have always wanted a 338-06
GLWS
Bump for what seems like a good deal. The 338/06 is a wonderful, easy-to-live-with, east-to-kill-with caliber.
This rifle is a real shooter. Up for offers
