I have a really nice FN commercial 1954 98 action 30/06 that I’d like to trade. I rescued it from a black gun shop a while back, and just don’t have a need for it. The metal is virtually 100%, and the walnut stock looks very nice. There is a crack that appears to go all the way through the pistol grip below where the butt and forestock meet, so it’s not a structural issue. I went ahead and bored below the cap and installed a 4” carbon fiber rod to stabilize it. Would love to trade it to something 1/4 bore or smaller that I will actually shoot, before I screw a different barrel on and ruin it. Please contact me for plenty of pics or whatever you may need. I have a mini-mauser that I've monkey'd with a little. It's a .223 and seems to have a bad barrel. I was going to do a 6x45 at some point, but it's not likely to happen. Not looking for a trade, but i'd sell it if you're interested. It's not a looker. Has a Timney trigger and set of Talley lightweight rings on it currently. PM me if you have interest.
