This is a Model 29-2 4". .44 Magnum

Pinned and Recessed, Target Trigger, Target Hammer, Target Grips. Just an amazing gun, and one in which you rarely see in such condition these days, and less and less every day, as their values rise.

I have had this since the 90s. Bought it from a shop who told me that it was sold to them as NIB. I cannot confirm that, and it shows as fired from the factory. It has the very faintest wear at the muzzle, but the presentation box shows wear at the exact same spot, so who knows. I know I have never fired it.

The pics tell its condition, and the cool thing is that not only is it in amazing condition, it has not just the presentation box, but it has the actual shipping box that the presentation box was shipped in too, which is super rare to find. I kept them all. Along with the paperwork.

I took a BUNCH of pics, so feel free to look at the pics.

I am not interested in any trades at all. Strictly a cash sale.

This is cross posted on multiple forums so the first "I will take it" will get it.

Price is $2,000. Plus shipping and insurance.

Will only ship to places where legal, and NO CA sales and all local, state and federal laws will be followed.

cool
Tag. Very tempting Mackay !
Sweet! Wouldn't do me any good though. I'd take it out shooting the first day I had it.
There is no reason not to shoot it if you want to, as you only live once!

The fact is that they stopped making the Model 29-2s over 40 years ago. With the passing of time, there are fewer and fewer and they get harder to find. Yep you can find well used samples, but finding one like this is like trying to find an honest politician in Washington. The fact it has not only the presentation but the shipping box, complete with matching serial numbers on the shipping box is exceptional.

I was glad it came with it back in the 90s and I am glad I kept it all together.
Beautiful example Ted, and good stewardship by you…….
Gorgeous!
Nice, real nice!
Superb!
You don’t see many with the shipping sleeve. That’s a real gem.
Dammit son! That’s a sweetheart.
Man…they knew how to blue a gun in those days.
Bump for an awesome gun, made back when the S&W gunsmith's took great pride in what they turned out. You could shoot this gun for a long time & if you take care of it, it will still be worth the $2,000 that seemed high at the time. They don't come along very often, especially in the 4" barrel.
Can’t stop looking at this one

Agreed
I really don't want to part with it, but circumstances are that I have to, so it is going to have to go to a good home. Knowing how these have gone up is price, and down in availability more and more, in recent years just makes it worse, but that is just the way it is.

I have not seen one with both a wood presentation box as well as a shipping box with matching serial numbers in a great many years and kept this tucked away. The whole package is in such amazing shape, that I dang near need a drool rag when I handle it. laugh cool
Very nice pistol!

I have had several of the same 29-2's as this.

They all shot the same; Excellent! GLWS
Thanks RJ!
BUMP!
Beautiful piece, Mac. That blueing is mesmerizing. They just don't make them like that anymore. GLWS.
Thanks LD,

Good Morning Friends!

While researching, I found another 29-2. but with the less desirable 8&3/8ths" barrel. This gun also has the wood presentation box and serial numbered shipping sleeve. They are asking $3750. I may be way off on my price, lol, but I will keep it where it is for now.

UP WE GO!

I was asked "why"

I am only selling this due to a divorce being finally settled and now I have some big bills to pay, so some things have to go sadly, so I can be back to square one again. Wish there were other ways, but at least someone is going to get this gun and a few others that are going to have to go.

$3750. for an 8 3/8" ???????????? Wishful thinking !
Nice looking revolver. Awesome that it has the original box !
Thanks Bird dog.

Yep very few and far between for the collector.
Damn man, I hate that! You don't know me, but I've followed your posts for a long time and seeing you having to sell these beautiful guns sucks. I hope things turn around for you in a hurry.

I feel for you sir. Been there had to do that....I lost some beauts.
I'd take out a loan to pay for a divorce before I'd ever sell any of my guns. Told the Mrs. that marriage was till death do us part, she and two lawyers would NOT be bending me over the barrel. No mention of the D word since then.

Thanks jds44 and Westman for the kind words.

I appreciate it. Tough times call for hard decisions, but I expect that things will be better in the long run. At the very least I can now have and hopefully grow a business that I don't have to worry about someone trying to take everything (most of which has already been taken).

Torqued,

You only go around once on this ride... smile
Love to have it, nut in CA! I’m jonesing on this one!!
Sadly with the people in the state of California have voted into office a group of Marxist Socialists that don't want people to have guns, or even ammo for that matter. They have made doing business very difficult and not worth the trouble or potential consequences.

Beautiful state, but lost to communism.
