This beaitiful dark Curly Maple Riflemans belt knife from Josh Clarke. I get very few of these in and these are the last of my Christmas allotment.

Josh designed his "American oRifleman's knife" which are designed to be a companion knife to his Riflemans belt axe. It is styled after the knives often carried on the American Frontier in the 1700-1800s.

This special "Deluxe" model has the addition of a more modern thong tube hole at the back of the handle and upgraded wood.

The knives are 10.5" over all with 6" blades that are flat ground from US milled #1095 steel , 1/8" thick at the spine. It is ground thin with a hand rubbed satin finish with a flat blade spine and swedge ground tip .They have a professional heat treat at 58 Rockwell. Joshua's deeply stamped "Longsword" maker's mark is on the blade.

The handle design is the 4.5" long traditional rounded French trade trade style design The scales are Fancy grade book matched Crotch Curl Maple in a dark "Flintlock Brown" stain. These are very hard and dense scales with wide wavy curl across their length.

They are attached with Brownells Acraglass with heavy gauge hand set brass pins and were finished with Josh's blend of Marine grade Spar varnish and Tung oil for a traditional yet weatherproof finish.

One of Josh's shop made Dark Brown Bridle leather sheaths. They are all hand saddle stitched and have a full welt.
