I've got a customized lightweight 700 Classic in .350 Remington. Someone (Karl Kampfeld?) did a lot of metal work to make it much lighter. Action has been lightened, barrel fluted and cut to 20 inches plus approximately 2 inch brake. Stock has been hollowed out. The entire barreled action has been refinished in cerakote. It weighs 5 pounds 12.10 ounces bare and just over 7 lbs with a Leupold 2.5-8 in Leupold dual dovetails. It's a beast! $1200 to your FFL from non FFL. 3 day inspection period.

It broke a 40 year old Leupold 2.5-8 on the first shot...maybe I should have expected that? Bore sighted it, 1 shot at 50 yards, not even on paper. Bore sighted and shot again not even on paper and crosshairs nowhere near where i put them. That's the first Leupold I ever bought at 18 years old and headed for Alaska. That scope has been on several rifles, including my first .338. Has the dot with crosshairs, I doubt they even make that reticle anymore. They'll probably replace it with a vx1. cry
I will include a set of Lee dies and a factory crimp die.

They may fix it, but with a different reticle?
Very nice !
So the brake doesn’t help recoil much ?
Pretty neat old gun.

I didn't shoot it enough to say. It was pretty lively the 4 times I did shoot it. It did remind me why I don't like brakes. I already have military grade tinnitus and hearing loss. This thing is loud, even with muffs! But where else can you get 2900 FPS with a 200 grain TSX in an under 6 lb short action rifle?

I don't need anything more than a .308 for the hunting I do these days. We have to choose whether to hunt deer and elk with archery, muzzleloader or modern rifle. I have only been hunting muzzleloader for the last few years.
