For Sale: Howa 1500 chambered in 308 Win.
Here's the story: This was originally purchased by me as a factory blemished Howa Carbon Stalker. I sold the original stock here and acquired a Howa Alpine stock for it (also here) made by Bansner. The rifle has approximately 75 rounds through it, give or take. It's in very good condition (and yes, I'll post pictures when I can). The factory blemish was 2 fold, the original stock was missing the rear sling stud (no longer an issue since it wears a different stock and the metal's coating (Cerakote?) has a scratch on the bottom of the barrel ahead of the stock's forend. I will try to capture that in the pics. The stock is in very good shape as well. One chip in the finish and a couple minor scratches in the finish near the bolt handle cutout. The stock was skim bedded by the previous stock owner not to this barreled action. This is the BDL version with a drop floor plate with a 22" standard sporter weight barrel. The barrel is factory threaded.
The rifle currently wears Leupold dual dovetail bases, low Leupold rings and a Leupold VX-II 3-9x40. Those items are NOT included in the sale.
I'm going to hang onto the bases, rings and scope unless someone wants to PM me an offer I can't refuse. Otherwise here is how you can buy it; have it your way:
Buy the rifle as a whole (barreled action in the Alpine stock). $850 shipped without scope and mounts.
Buy the barreled action. $425 shipped without scope, mounts or stock.
Buy the stock only. $450 shipped without scope, mounts or barreled action.
The rifle has been MOA accurate with my handloads. Happy to share the recipe with the buyer. A couple of notes, I don't know the exact weight. I suspect the bare rifle is somewhere around 6.5-6.75#s.
Please send any questions or offers via PM. First I'll take it posted here in the public forum gets it and beats any PM offers or ongoing negotiations happening via PM. I'm happy to answer questions via PM and if needed will update the post.
Thanks for looking. Pics soon...
