Is the top quarter sharp or is it a faux double edge?

Hmmm…..not really sure what you’re asking but no portion of the top of the blade is sharp. Not sure what would make it appear as a “faux double edge “.

A beveled top quarter that’s not sharp is a faux double edge. Thank you for confirming - it looked like it wasn’t sharp but I wasn’t sure

👍. I’m not a serious collector and so not familiar with some of the descriptive terms.

The false edge on mine isn't super sharp, but it could be easily sharpened to a good edge.

I have an original Ka-bar, early wartime issue, and the false edge isn't sharp and appears not to ever have been.

How does the steel on these new repros stack up to the steel used in the early original ones? My old one would hold an edge forever, until I wised up and considered its value and socked it away.
