As I mentioned a few months ago, Dave Van Horn (DVH Custom) is retiring and is having a gentleman named Craig moving out his remaining inventory.

Much from the first list I posted has sold. Craig just sent me another list, so here it is. Call or text Craig for interest, pricing or questions: 602-316-8299

**I have no business affiliation with either Craig or DVH. I've been a VERY happy user of Dave's products over the years and am simply helping out a terrific and talented 'smith. His barrels are among the most accurate I have ever used.**

Here's one of my favorite Contender barrels: a 24" .300 Savage that Dave built several years ago. (The two barrels shown as complete guns are not for sale.)

The 24" 30-30 he built for me shoots like a heavy-barreled target rifle and has accounted for several dozen hogs, a few deer and lots of coyotes:

Here's the list.

I could see a 30-30 contender carbine being extremely useful. Are you shooting factory ammo or hand loads?

The 30-30 is being fed handloads, and for the past few years, they've primarily been with the Barnes 110 and 120 grain Tac-TX bullets, which are designed for .300 BO speeds. They are truly wicked at 30-30 velocities, usually expanding to around .60 caliber and retaining virtually all of their weight.

Here's one taken from a large boar.

Keep in mind anything .225 Winchester improved is probably the same as a JDJ to get around his patents…

Thanks for mentioning that -- and you are absolutely correct. I used 6.5 JDJ dies for the 22" 6.5x.225 Imp Van Horn barrel I used to have. Dimensionally, they were identical.
Several of these have already sold, so if you are on the fence about buying, don't delay for long. Once they're gone, they're gone. There will be no more DVH barrels made.
Craig just told me that he found a set of RCBS dies to go with the 17 Mach IV barrel that I think was on the first list. He said the are $100.
