Got one of those on my elk rifle; perfect scope for the deep woods and the open range. GLWS!
Thanks Wyo.

HD has the ZL2 turret and is illuminated. Nothing wrong with the non HD. If you want the exposed ZL2 turret leupold will install one for you.

Oh and the HD has a ZL2 turret on the windage side

Oh [bleep] sorry, firedot duh.
HD also has the Aluma covers
I have 2 of the non-HDs and I wouldn’t pay what they want for those upgrades
Only difference is the glass and the zl2 turret on the elevation.

HD do not come standard with flip aluminas or zl2 on the windage.

The glass difference isn’t noticeable unless you have both side by side and the differences as little as they are, are primarily noticeable during low or no light.

Only advantage to the vx6, if you care is the 5 is a 10 power and the 6 is a 12. Same scope. You must have awesome eyes to tell the difference. Can't go wrong either way
Thanks for the clarification all.
Great glass. Good seller. Keep it up top
I have the same scope as the OP is offering for sale. It is illuminated and it is a great scope.

The original question raised was what is the difference between the VX-6 and the VX6HD. This started when Nyrifleman (the person selling the VX-6) indicated for clarity this was not the HD model. Then, gte901m asked what was the difference between the two? So just comparing the VX6 to the VX6HD, the VX6HD upgrades include the Alumina® Flip-Back™ Lens Covers, upgraded lenses, CDS-ZL2 Elevation Dial, Zero-Lock windage dial, Electronic Reticle Level, and the Reversible Throw Lever.

Some will put value with part or all of the upgrades. Others may think the upgrades are not worth the increase in price.
Warpig602 was right, the VX5HD and VX3HD series have their own differences and do not share all the upgrades of the VX6HDs.

Still, not counting the upgrades, the VX-6 performs very close to the VX6HD to my eyes. I too believe you would have to have both scopes side by side to see if your eyes see any difference. From what others have observed, the difference, if you nit pick it to the nth degree, is in very low light, at the edge of the field of view, and at the highest magnifications.

donsm70 nailed it. The VX-6 is a great scope.

I have two of these.

$965 each shipped or take them both for $1850 shipped.

I'm curious. Does only the center dot light up as a firedot, or with the LR reticle, can the individual elevations dots light as well? Thanks
Told ya a week ago I had 800. Offer stands.

That's what I figured. Kind of defeats the LR reticle if one needs the firedot for a shot. Thanks for clearing that up.
That firedot is actually pretty sweet on low power

Correct.

Great scope, save over 1k over the HD model for very little gain.
Sold!
You posted you had 2. Are both sold?
