I believe I got an email from you that was not intended. We've done business in the past and you may have sent me a copy of your FFL via email or you may have sent Paypal using my email address. Either way, please check your email account as I suspect it may be compromised.

Anyone else get an email from Steve Vanlerberghe?

I called him and left him a voicemail to check this post.

I didn't open the link. I believe it was a phishing attempt.

Smart enough to figure out that it was a phishing attempt, but not enough to figure out that Steve didn’t send it? Seriously?

He’s telling Steve to check his stuff cause it’s evident he got hacked

Exactly. Since it happened to me and the only dealings I've had with Steve were here the possibility exists that it may have happened to other members who have bought from or sold him something.

It’s an email designed to look like it’s from someone who it is not. It’s called spoofing. If you look at the email address that it came from you will almost invariably see that it is different than the ones you’ve had in the past from this individual.

And yeah, you’ve now doxed a member.

Delete the post.

Hey Guys: It wasn't me!!!! I don't know if this is related but I got scammed over on Rokslide. Caught the scam before I was money out but had to close my personal checking c acct. as he(they) had my account number and tried to cash 2 fraudulent checks they made up. Luckily my bank caught the checks and sent them back. They were good at being the crooks they were. Went by "Magma" over on Rokslide. Beware and diligent. Seems the a**holes are all over the internet these days. I'm at the point I'll only transact with those I have a history with.

Steve,
I'm glad you were able to catch it when you did. You're one of the good guys and I was only trying to increase awareness. Please change your email password. I have changed mine and I went through and changed the passwords I use on sites like these.

Yes, we all have to be extremely aware now days. Too many low lifes crawling out from under the rocks. You too are definitely one of the good guys!!!! Take care my friend.

For the first time ever I received two fraud alerts from USAA today. I'm grateful for their exemplary protection. Our vacation in Nashville would be alot less enjoyable.
