It truly, truly pains me to list this scope. I'd love to keep it but I'm stretching my luck with the wife as it is. I purchased this scope for a hunting rifle and my need to go more tactical with a higher magnification is the only driving force to list this scope.

Alas, for sale is a Schmidt Bender Klassik 3-12x42 Precision Hunter Series with the P3 Mil-dot reticle. There is only a slight mark on the right side of the scope or this would pass a New In The Box. No ring marks and the glass is superb.

If your not familiar with the Precision Hunter series, the elevation knob is equipped with a bullet drop compensator. With the rifle zeroed to your preferred distance (200yds for example), the knob is set at 0 on the dial. While at the range, I count the number of clicks to get to 300, 400, 500 and so on for a particular load and record this. I keep the chart handy when hunting. If simplicity, this information can be given to Schmidt Bender and they will cut a custom ring for you.

Also, the reticle is in the first focal plane on this scope. I was a bit skeptical on long range shots but as you can see by the picture, the reticle is still fine enough for those long range shots.

If you look on-line, you will find Bear Basin, SWFA and EuroOptics rock solid of $2386+ for this very same scope. My price is very firm at $1780 shipped/insured to your address. I can not take trades at this time, thank you.

Evening bump
These are tough to find sometimes - great deal on this one!!
Had a PM regarding why have the BDC knob and a Mil-dot reticle.

The Mil-dot reticle is a method of determining the shot distance from a known target size (deer chest size). Mathematically it can create some good head scratching or you can use the a Mil-Dot master.

I will include my Mil-Dot master and instruction book with this scope if desired at no additional cost.

I'm sure you can all relate when I say your kids come first. The need for a bigger scope is definitely on hold.

I'm reducing the price once again but to help my daughter out instead.

I'm open for serious offers
Looks like a keeper
How far out can you get the BDC knob set up for?

This is a fantastic deal guys..
That is tough question as there are many variables.

A couple factors that determine the distance is velocity of the rifle, obviously the faster rifles will extend the total range of the BDC.

What is your zero distance? Depending on the rifle, I personally like a 250-275yd zero.

To set this scope up, I did the following:

#1 Sighted the rifle for 250yds, and unscrewed the cap on the BDC...lifted the dial ring off the scope...set the dial ring back down in the zero position.

#2 I then shot the rifle out to the maximum yardage that I had adjustments while recording the number of clicks and/or the position of the indexing mark to the BDC ring. I could hold dead-on to 440yds and then I would use the mil-dots as hold over points.

#3 Because I hadn't finalized my load for that particular rifle, I recorded the above information and recorded it on a card.

I could have sent this information directly to Schmidt Bender and they would etched a custom ring for that particular load.

Yes, it is a fantastic deal. I've been so busy that I haven't had the chance to list it on egag.
