Remington Autoloading Rifle, Model 8, .35 Remington caliber. Very good condition for a 102 year old rifle. Bluing is very nice on the reciever, with no rust, pits or corrosion. Bottom of magazine enclosure has a small dent in the middle from where it was dropped or banged against the edge of something. Barrel sleeve bluing has some scratches, and some loss areas, but is otherwise good and has no pits or rust. Internals and bolt are very clean, no corrosion. Bore is like new. The 11,000 series serial number means 3rd year of manufacture, 1908.

Stock is in good condition with some minor nicks and scratches, fits well around the receiver, and no splits or cracks. I believe the butt has been cut, with a 1/2" Pachmayr rubber pad installed. However, the length of pull across the pad is 14", and across the end of wood, 13.5".

I bought this from an estate; the family does not want guns around the house. The 50+ year old grandson told stories of shooting coyotes with it as a kid with his grandpa. This rifle looks like it was used carefully, frequently, and cleaned religiously. I bought this to replace a second year Model 8 I sold years ago, so I hate to sell (again). My kid just got a nice shotgun, so something has to go to pay for it.

[Edit: The Model 8 is a take-down design. I will ship this broken-down to lessen chance of shipping damage, and for convenience. Thank you, jerrywoodswalker.]

One of these in .30 Remington was my first deer rifle. The .35 Remington is an even better round.

These are takedown...remove the forearm and up against the receiver is a little lever that can be unscrewed, then the barrel & receiver can be separated.

I've got one exactly like this one. I didn't know it was a takedown though. Thanks for the info.

I can put four 200 grain Hornady spire points into a 1" bullseye at 100 yds. with open sights with my Model 8.

it is a 1908. I have an identical one from 09. I would not sell mine for $450.00 but that is me, (I think the value will steadily rise on these) Good luck with the sale.

I have been asked about trades. I would only be interested in a trade towards your Kimber 84M Classic Select or Montana in .260, 257, or 22/250. Plus a promise to consider buying the other guns I would then have to sell to finish back filling the bank account. Hmm, trades are not necessarily good.
