I have a mint-condition never-shot Ithaca Mdl 51 Magnum 12ga Semi-Auto SN: 510084XXX that I have no need for and a gentleman approached me about selling it. Does anyone have a value and maybe a production date to give me? Any responses will be appreciated.

Jeff
Bump......
My brother has the same gun, i will check with him tonite.
Thanks glosto. I figure it's worth between $350 and $500. I do know that it was produced between the years of 1970 and 1985.

The model 51 was the economy shotgun back then, and while mine held up well, parts these days are getting harder to find. I sold mine for $250 last year, and it was in pretty darn good shape. But it had a fiber optic sight, so it was not all original.
But I also wanted a fast sale, so..likely you can get more for a never shot model 51. $350 for a fast sell, $400 if someone wants it bad. That's my guess. This model did have its shorcomings, the most prominent being weak action bars, prone to early breakage.
Thanks Wyogal. That's good info.

You're welcome dear. They were GREAT shooters though for the occasional hunter.
We sold a fair number of them and never got problem guns back. They seemed to be well built and designed, but as stated, parts are now hard to find.
Hey Barb! I didn't recognize you by your new username. How's the Winchester 30-30? You shot any cougars or bears with it yet? lol......

Jeff
I LOVE that Winchester 30-30! It's a great shooter, put a Williams sight on it, and good to go. Haven't bloodied it yet. But give me time...heehee. You corrupted me into Winchesters,
and I am forever grateful.
I know you been shooting that Marlin XL7. Been watching the posts on Marlinowners. Glad its gone good for ya.
A new one should be worth around $450. if you find someone looking for one, maybe a little more if in orginal box.
Thanks glosto and to all that repied.
