NKC Registered and rearing to get their squirrel hunting careers started. The pups are in Memphis and are $250 picked up here. If you are looking for a natural tree dog, you have found it. Add a good 22 rifle and some comfortable boots and have many happy days in the woods! Thanks, Brad

The third one down is fantastic looking
They look a little like coon hounds.
Cute, how big will they be when they are grown up?
Posted By: memfuzz Re: Barger Stock Feist pups - 06/14/11
Hikerbum, I agree, she has a classic hound dog look. Cariboujack, the momma got up to 24 lbs when she was pregnant, she usually is around 18-19. The daddy stays about 21 lbs. They are just under knee high when full grown.

Is #1 a female also?
Posted By: memfuzz Re: Barger Stock Feist pups - 06/15/11
Yes.
Number 1 black and white female, natural bob tail.
Number 2 black and white male, natural bob tail.
Number 3 brown female, natural bob tail.
Number 4 brown male, long tail
Number 5, black male, he was the runt, but boy, has he ever got spunk! He is a natural bob also.

Who's the big guy of the litter, #1 #2 or #3?
Posted By: memfuzz Re: Barger Stock Feist pups - 06/15/11
Currently it's number 3. She has passed 1 & 2 in the last week or so. There is a number 6 female that is even bigger, but she has been spoken for since day one, so I didn't include her picture. Just wanted to be honest and let you know she is the biggest. I can send pics of parents or scans of pedigrees if anyone needs them.
Love that 3rd one, good looking pup!

I wonder if these dogs could be made into deer dogs...to trail a wounded one? powdr
Posted By: muleshoe Re: Barger Stock Feist pups - 06/15/11
Could you post a picture of the parents?

Bump for some beautiful pups.
Posted By: memfuzz Re: Barger Stock Feist pups - 06/15/11
Powdr, someone on Squirrel Dog Central had a dog they were trying to give away because he liked to chase deer, so I suppose they could be trained to do it. I will post pictures of the parents, the pedigree, and pup weights etc when I get back to the house this afternoon.

Momma dog, we call her Addy, because she has always had attitude.

I tried to get weights on the puppies, that was like trying to put smoke back in a cigarette! I'll try and get it on the next vet visit.

i wish you were close to Idaho. Those pups are outstanding. If you were closer I would have jumped on the chance for one.

M1Tanker, I'd deliver one except I'd probably end up staying. Sure is pretty country out your way!

Hump day, bump day.

If you ever get the urge to come out this way let me know. I will take you to all the places that get you hooked on being an Idahoan. We have awesome hunting and fishing pretty much out the door of the house.

Memfuzz, how would you describe the temperament of these dogs when they are just around the house or yard... I love the laid back friendly personalities of hound dogs... are the smaller feists more hyper <when they are not treeing squirrels?

Thanks
Posted By: memfuzz Re: Barger Stock Feist pups - 07/01/11
They are not as laid back as a big hound, but nowhere near as active as say a Jack Russell. My dogs are happy to sit on the couch and just be with us as we watch tv. The momma and daddy will play fight each other every now and then for entertainment. They both love to play with a tennis ball, and will actually throw it back at you if you quit playing too soon.
