Actually, it weighs in at a tad under 10 lbs. It's softer than most 12 gauge 3 1/2" guns that usually weigh around 7 1/2 lbs. Patterns quite a bit better too. Might be a touch much for the dove field. I have several Beretta x-trema 2's with the kick off system which are regarded as some of the softest recoiling guns out there and if I know I'm going to need 3 1/2" shells, I take my other gold 10.
