I have an arrangement with Ric to advertise these Landowner Authorizations on the Campfire.

We have 4 of these authorizations for sale.

Unit 53 is in Northern NM. Its boundaries start at the SW near Taos, northward to the Latir Wilderness area, east to the Valle Vidal Boundary, south the Bobcat Pass area, then South Westerly to include the Wheeler Wilderness area toward Taos. This area is not for the faint of heart. Good physical and mental shape is required. This unit holds big bulls. The elk biologist for Game and Fish is Stewart Liley, talking to him about the age class of bulls in this area is enlightening.

These are "Unit Wide" authorizations meaning you can use them on all public lands with legal access and all Unit Wide Ranch properties (private land) signed up with that designation in the unit of which there are 10.

They can be used for a choice of either Oct 6-10 Either sex muzzle loader or bow, Oct 13-17 mature bull rifle or lessor weapon, Oct 20-24 mature bull rifle or lessor. The main towns are Taos, Questa, and Red River. This is a great recreation area, lots of beautiful country.

The permits are priced at $1,350 ea + 7% tax. You must purchase a state license on top of $560.

Is the choice of muzzleloader or bow on Oct. 6-10 only for this unit? Could we hunt with a bow in Unit 2?
