Tell him to look for a set of the new Nikon prostaff 7 binos. I compared a bunch side by side and the prostaff 7 are brighter and more clear and crisp that the monarchs for less than half the price. I paid $180 for a set of 8x. I looked at vortex too and not impressed thu were lousy for alot of money. They were the viper line. Anyway he will be better off with the PS7 and can get them new for less than used monarchs. Have him go test them out at a retailer

Yota, Good choice. I used the PROSTAFF 7's last fall on a couple of hunts. Worked great. Very clear and built tough. There's a great Promo going on right now that gives you $50 instant rebate on these bino's if you buy from an Authorized Nikon Dealer. Only run's till Sept. 8th so don't miss out!

Hey thanks guys. I think these will work out fine for him. He's headed up too his brothers for a Moose/Caribou hunt next month.

BTW, Optics Planet has them really cheap. $150 for the 10x42's.
