I found what is a nice 221 to replace my cz-527, but as a last check, I am interested in getting a heavy barrel, prefer Rem 700 but am open to whatever is available.

As a precaution to the inevitable, which is I'll get a gun and within a week or 2 someone posts for sale a more desirable gun...

Anyway, if you have, or know where one is, please let me know before I buy a light barreled replacement. It seems Remington didn't make a heavy barrel 221 fireball, from what I can find?

Thanks

Still hoping to find a heavy barrel gun....
Depending on your desired use for said fireball, I have had very good luck with an old standard weight Sako rechambered from 222 magnum. Mine is normally under an inch at 100. I've shot 100 straight and due to the lower velocity of the cartridge have not suffered from superhot barrel or loss of accuracy that I noticed. I love the cartridge. *See my forum handle!
I have a Kimber of Oregon Mod 84 Classic, that has a heavy brl.
Was only made a couple yrs. I think 84 & 85, still have box and shipping sleeve. The only other 1 I've seen sold on Guns America for around 2200. PM if interested.
