I believe this would be an old style tang safety Ruger M77 "ultra lite" judging by the 20" barrel. Compacts have 16" barrels.

I measured from the rec to the end of the barrel and is 19 1/4. this is really a neat little rifle sorry no trades

I oncur wth Butler247 - it sounds like an ultra -light tang - great rifles - love mine in 270 !! Good price for one of these.
