With some regret I've decided to sell my Swarovski Habicht 10x40 binocular. I'm selling only because the eye relief of this design does not let me use it with glasses, something that's occurred for me in the last few years. If I didn't wear glasses, I'd keep it for sure and it's very fast with a great field of view (w/o glasses!).

Resolution is superb. In fact, a few years ago I took these into the Sportsman's Warehouse in Boise to compare them to the latest model Swarovski; I could see no difference in resolution, color or clarity (nor could the sales guy at the optics counter). The glass is excellent, with no scratches or marks that I can see. It has never been immersed or soaked in water, as I carried it around my neck and inside my shirt or jacket when hunting. It has minor finish wear around the edges, has never been repaired or even sent in for service. Collamation remains perfect, as it's crystal clear even when using for hours at a time with zero eye strain. Adjustments are smooth, that "just right" resistance that it has had since new. The leather neck strap is original (the knot you see in it in the picture I tied only to shorten the strap, as I didn't want to cut it), as is the leather case with suede lining (see picture). Buck 110 folding knife shown for scale in some pictures; knife not included nor for sale.

I bought this binocular new in 1982 in Strasbourg, Austria, and have used it carefully ever since as my main hunting and all around glass. It's even got alot of combat time in fighters over Iraq, as it went on every sortie I flew. This same Swarovski porro prism design is still being made, both in armored and non-armored finish, selling for over $1,200 new.

It needs to move - now $475 shipped. First public "I'll take it" trumps PMs/offers; postal M.O. or bank check please.

Price drop to $450...on Swaro glass.
Someone that's used to the latest fashions in binoculars and might be turned off by the old timey look and the porro prism aspect would be missing one hell of a great pair of binoculars.

I have the Swaro 6X30 Habicht Traditionals and have remarked several times how good they are. I've owned Swarovski SL 10X50's and 15X56's - both porro prism models, their SLC 7X30's, and their 7X42 porro Military models and the Traditionals are what I kept.

Folks, this is a Certified Good Deal on an excellent pair of binoculars.
Many thanks, Jim, and it's even been to the top of Smoky Dome in area 44...

What is the IP distance on these?

Mark
56mm to 74mm, a pretty wide range.
Trade pending...
If trade falls thru I'll buy 'em for $450.

Reading their history you should probably keep them.
Many thanks, LostArra, deal made prior to your posting.

Good deal here....folks who think they know bins are missing a great bet with these. They blow the socks off a lot of in-fashion roof prisms...had two pair of them but stupidly sold them after buying into the roof prism kool-aid. frown
