Kinda pains me to sell this one, but have other things/projects to take care of.
This is a Savage 99 featherweight, dates to 1957. Good overall condition, a few light hunting marks, but nothing major. I would rate rifle at about 85%.No tang cracks, good rifling. Comes with Redfield Frontier 2x7 with duplex/Weaver bases. $850.00 shipped.

I have a similar rifle in .300 and it has become a favorite. A pure hunting rifle. For some reason a lot of these are very accurate.

I put a VXIII 1.5-5X on mine, brings it up to a whole 7 lb even. Best rifle I ever had.

I have two 99Fs. Funny how some of the lightweight Montana/T3/NULA craze folks think the lightweight rifle is a new thing. Savage and Winchester, and even Remington with the 725, figured it out in the 50s.

Killed my first 3 bucks with my uncles 99F 308 . That was in 1969-71. Finally found 2 about 20 years ago. I build a lot of guns but still love the old 99's just something about them!

I bought this rifle and to say I am pleased would be an understatement. I have been looking for a 99 in a 308 for a while and have not had any luck. Signed onto this sight after reading Kens add now I am the happy owner of this very nice rifle.

Kens word is good as gold!!
