Kimber Montana 308 22" barrel.

5 lbs 15oz with scope and rings as set up.

Leupold VX3 3.5x10x40 w/ B&C reticle (has holdovers for out to 300 yards. There are some scuff/nick marks on the scope body from hitting another rifle, which are shown below. Rings and bases mounted in Talley one piece rings/bases with a torque wrench, so they are uniform.

The crown is crisp and shown below.

I never did any load work up for the rifle, just used the ammo I use in all of my 308's, 175 SMK's with 43.5 Varget, F210M, Black Hills brass, at 2.800" and it shoots extremely well. 200 yard target is shown below.

Only selling it because I had multiple procedures on my spine this summer, so I will not be out walking any hills or slopes, and picked up a heavier 260 for blind hunting, which I prefer to shoot for the time being, so need the room in the safe and the wallet.

No modifications or tinkering have been done to this rifle. It runs nicely as is, so I've left it alone. Just feed it some quality ammo and this will make someone a very nice rifle.

$1150 shipped to your FFL.

Shouldn't last long.
How much for the rifle sans scope?

For now, will only separate if all parts are spoken for, otherwise leaving it as one package.

$950 for rifle shipped to FFL, can cut -$50 for shipping and transfer fees from my end for FTF locally if you have a CHL.

$275 for scope with rings shipped.
If you separate it, I want the scope and rings. Thanks.

I'll take it per our PM's!
SPF to Alaska Cub. Congratulations.
R, you're gonna like that one...
Yes sir F, I believe I will!
I'm surprised that finish on the Leupy isn't more popular. Looks really nice on a SS rifle.

Got one going on top of my new Marlin SBL 1895 .45-70. smile

Damn good buy! Basically $750.00 - $800.00 for the rifle is how I see it.
I'll be running different glass on this rifle, so if your interested in the scope let me know.
Just wanted to give some Kudos to Jeff, the rifle was as advertised, he was a nice guy, and the Kimber shot several sub 1" groups today for me and a couple 1/2" groups with my starting handloads . Funny thing is this was a Kimber that was originally sold because it wouldn't shoot for chit!...grin.

I will add that after owning a Montana in 300 WSM and now this 308, this 308 is a snappy son beetch!

I think that's the case with a bunch of the bitchin' on these forums. Either that....or I'm the luckiest SOB in the WORLD for having 6 or 7 Montana's over the years that shoot good and none that didn't.

Congrats on a nice rifle, BTW.

yeah that was a good deal. I would have purchased it for sure

I must be the second luckiest SOB around, as I'm up to 5 Montanas, and they've all been shooters too!

Ditto on the nice rifle, AC.

Please expound--are you saying that the felt recoil of the lighter 308 is more than the WSM? I've been wondering about that myself.
I wouldn't say that , but I didn't expect this little 308 to pack so much punch. It's not real bad or anything but it is a sub 6lb rifle with scope.

Thank you for the kind words AC.

Very nice to meet you too, and glad the rifle is working well for you.

Good luck this season.

Jeff
Never freakin fails that if I dont watch this website for a week....something I would LOVE to have comes and goes. Oh well. Congrats to the lucky buyer!
AlaskaCub/257Heaven/Prairie_Goat,
You guys are such liars about these things shooting so well. I've got three of them 270WSM, 7WSM, and 325WSM and I can't get a single one of them to shoot straight. As far as I know, Kimber doesn't make a single gun that shoots straight without thousands of dollars of work. I'm still looking for a 300WSM and the only reason I keep buying these darn Kimber Montana's is because I hope to get lucky one day and find one that shoots straight. People should be nearly giving these things away on here. Wink Wink.
Well i stumbled across another rifle on here that I've gotta have so you may see this one for sale, bought too many toys lately and not enough money to buy em all!....grin

Can I have dibs please? grin
summitsittin,
I wouldn't go that far calling them liars. They may have a few that shoot great. I will agree with you have been through kimbers that wouldn't shoot, and didn't waste much time sending them down the road. This was a deal even if it doesn't shoot. Good luck guys
I think summit was being sarcastic.

Maybe this thread should be a sticky.....:/
Totally sarcastic. I love my Kimbers and never had one that didn't shoot lights out right out of the box with factory ammo.

Most of the time I miss out on these Kimbers because they only last for like 5 minutes before they are snatched up. I thought if we sent some false and misleading information out there regarding the brand we might get a few more people to part with theirs, at reasonable prices, and they might last on here for longer than 5 minutes. Ha.
