bump for a great rifle....

I just acquired a 527 in 204R. With Hornady superformance ammo, it drilled 4 into a single hole, and the 5th was a 1/4" away because I shanked it (at 100 yards).

Great shooters, modest recoil....fun rifles! This should be sold by now!
moved on to gunbroker.

Gotta ask. Why does the rifle in your Gunbroker ad have a set trigger and this rifle does not?
good question. I did not know the trigger could be adjusted so the set would not work. My buddy who knows these rifles inside out just backed the adjustment screw out and low and behold there was a set trigger. Needless to say I felt pretty stupid.

If it makes you feel any better I've had a 527 for several years and wasn't aware that the trigger could be adjusted so the set doesn't work. A friend of mine recently showed me his 527 and he was convinced it was defective because it would occasionally fire when the trigger was set and the safety put on fire position. I believe the previous owner had it adjusted so light that it is no longer safe.
