I have had inquiry's on the Cooper 280 AI regarding the straight stock as opposed to the typical rollover comb. Original owner bought the gun new at First Stop gun shop in Rapid Cty SD. I was told it came with the straight stock from First Stop. First stop sell lots of coopers, don't know if this was a special request etc.... Listing on box end etc... Listed as Jackson Hunter. No Cooper expert here. Have shot several owned from same individual and they all shoot. He has a standard 280, box shows Jackson Hunter, it also has straight stock. Hope that helps.

Both are just shy of 7.5 lbs, 24" barrels. 25-06 is 1 in 10 , 280 AI is 1 in 9 twist.
Does the 280AI have the fixed ejector like a Winnie Model 70 or is it a plunger type like a Rem. 700?
The ejector of the Model 52 consists of a spring-loaded blade housed in a slot in the receiver floor, basically the same as on the pre-64 Winchester Model 70.
Thanks, I knew they changed to a plunger at some point but obviously it was after this rifle was produced.
