Pic shows a Vari-X III. These were last made in 2003. Starting in 2004 Leupold upgraded the optics and renamed this series VX-III which became the VX-3 in 2009 which again coincided with an optics upgrade.

Just goes to show how confusing it can be for some. Obviously the OP isn't trying to purposefully misrepresent the item because he shows it in the picture. He just doesn't understand what model he has. He might have bought it 5-6 years ago and was told it was a vxlll...?
