I am looking for either a CZ or a Browning Medallion in a .17 Ackley Hornet with either a 22" or a 24" barrel. Preferably with a "relative" low round count.

What is your price range? I have a CZ 527 American that has had the action trued and barrel installed by Pac Nor. Probably hasn't been fired 50 times.

Hey Carlm, thank you for your response. In all honesty, it all depends on the gun.

One thing that I didn't mention in the original post is that I would prefer a 9 twist barrel on it.

Questions: How long ago did you have the work done and put the barrel on it? Could you send me some pictures? What is the length of the barrel? What might you be looking for it price wise?

Thanks

Mine is a Super Match grade ss barrel. CZ American contour and length were copied. Barrel is fluted. Twist is 1-9. Guarantee you I won't sell it for less than $1250 shipped since the gun cost $600 and the barrel/re-barrel is almost $800.

Carlm, thanks for that information. That sounds like a very nice rifle. But, to me at $1250 shipped, it is more than ALL the money on that. I know that it cost you little more to have it fluted. But, on a .17 AH and using 10ish grains of powder there's really no heat to be worried about. So, it's really just for aesthetics purposes. But, if you were to send me some pictures of the rifle and everything looked right, I could see comfortably giving you somewhere around $900 or so, plus shipping. But, that's kinda where I'm at on that.

For $900 for a $1400 fired a few times, gun no pics necessary. The fluting added $100. It also costs more for a .17 caliber, more to have the contour copied. The fluting is for aesthetics, lighter weight and heat dissipation. Depends on your intended purpose. For PD 's you can get it hot. Good thing I left off the Calhoon modified bolt. That adds $40 more.
You might try Saubier (.com) where I have been a member for a long time. You might get lucky if you post a WTB, but I don't see them come up too often. Good luck.

Carlm is right about Saubier being a better place to post a WTB ad for a 17AH. Lots of fans of that caliber there and several guys who have them. Getting someone to part with one may be tough. Good luck.

JDunham,I do agree that Saubier is probably the best spot to find one. And I am a member of that site also, but for some reason I can't access my account. I do have a message out to the site administrator to rectify it. But, it's been 4-5 days without a response back from them on it.
