In this review Jordan Michaels with Guns and Ammo says a lot of very nice things about the 783. He didn't like the scope though. The scope on this 783 has been replaced with a time proven El Paso 4x Weaver Scope.

He was saying nice things at - MSRP: $399-$451

The price on this 783 makes it a great deal for your kid on Christmas.

I don't think you'll get it at a more attractive price.

No question this is a great starter rifle, and a good price. Bump for somebodies Merry Christmas.

I got the same gun. It shoots MOA with a new scope and factory ammo. IMO it is a better gun the Savage Axis I also own.
