Low N-prefix SN puts it probably at 1969 manufacture. I've had this revolver for 15 or 20 years and I'm just overloaded with 357's. Only faults I see on it is the little bit of holster wear on both sides of muzzle and the grips are not 100%. See the pics and ask questions. Original grips. I do not have the box or anything else. This is a repost. The SN of this revolver is N424. The pics have not been edited or photoshopped. This revolver was manufactured in 1969 as best I can tell.

Why is this revolver still here? If I wasn't covered up with 27-2s, this one would be on it's way to my house. Great Smith, very reasonable price.

What year was it made?

257H, your 28-2 with SN-N424xxx would have been made in 1976 or maybe 1977. Per S&W your serial# falls into the period starting in 1975 with SN N190001 to 1977 ending with N430000. With the N424 I would say late 1976 or early 1977.

I have a couple of speed loaders that will work for this. They've been laying in a drawer for a few years now and I don't foresee myself ever owning another N frame 357 and they don't work for an L frame. If someone buys this and wants them they can have them for $5, that oughta cover the postage.
