What is this worth, gun was made in The late 40's both barrels have the same # on them mod is 26" & the full is 28" metal has bluing wear & some marks on them & stock has normal wear on it, would it decrease the Value if you would refinish them, also a 37 16 ga with a poly choke on it, is the value more or less with having a choke on it.
Dunno, yes, and yes.

Condition is everything. Matching barrels are cool and definitely add value. Don't refinish anything if you're going to sell them. Polychoke definitely hurts value.

Need pictures.....
Do not refinish them!
A 2 barreled 37 would be a thing of cooldom.
Normally Ithaca 37's aren't "collector guns" so the re-bluing wouldn't be a big deal, but a 20 ga that old with matching number barrels I'd keep it original finish and you'll do much better. No idea on the poly choke - I seem to see them at every gun show and the sellers usually are the same. (Meaning they take awhile to sell out here in OR)
Not collector guns by any stretch, even of that vintage u less they were like new or of higher grade. I'd give the 20 with two barrels a value of no more than $400, maybe less based on condition. The 16 is hurt significantly with the Polychoke - I'd say it's worth about $225.
I'd be interested in the 20. Figure out a price and let me know.
Concur with GF1. Lots of 37's in this area. Well built, great shooters, like 37's and Remington 17's aren't worth a lot.
Since NY legalized rifles for big game across the state, this has created a flush of "slug guns" on the market. Add in the decline of pheasants and grouse, field shotguns, in general, are relatively cheap.
The duck and goose guys now have to have magnum autos. The trap and skeet guys have never shown much interest in pumps.
In last week or so, I saw a wood stocked 870 Wingmaster magnum action, Remchoke barrel, very good condition, in a shop with a $319 price tag.
Be interested in the 20ga, when you come up with a price!
Would like pictures if you have any! P.M. me and I'll give you my number or email!!
PM's sent back to you guys
The poly choke hurts the 16 value but I wouldn't advocate cutting it off as Ithat will certainly not help raise the value. Plus often the barrels were cut down anyway so cutting the choke off often makes them too short. It's a nice gun so one will come along that appreciates a poly choke. They generally work great the look just puts some folks off.
