I have just purchased two of the Remington Marlin's. I had Lyman Steel aperture sights added. I really like them. I also have a few older Marlins and these new ones are just as nice, in my opinion. Plus is the new ones have better stocks than the old Marlins, in my opinion.

The current production guns, which these are, are excellent quality, with very nice fit & finish. I've seen several older JM stamped Marlins that were put together pretty rough.

I just cashed my rebate check this week. Plus all the sales this summer, Marlin is flooding the market. Wonder if they are just over stocked, or want people to buy them to see reliability has improved. I am sure happy with mine.
