I'd say it runs true to size. I normally wear a large and this one fits me well.

How loud is the exterior of this jacket? Made for the duck blind or could you wear it tree stand hunting?

It's like your typical puffy. They are not quiet like say fleece or some other materials. That being said, I used it stand hunting last season without issue. ( I don't bow hunt though) What these type jackets are really nice for is packed down small and light in your pack to pull out when you need another warm layer.
