Just curious I only see them on Turkey guns, I have always thought a 28 inch barrel was more useful for dove hunting, duck hunting etc.
I have one on an 870 Turkey gun and a 210F slug gun. Outside of that I like 28in SxS or 26in pump guns.

26 inch seems like a popular length, I only see the 24 inch on turkey guns

I use one for quail/grouse. Anything longer just slows me down in the thickets:)

My 12 gauge BPS turkey gun has a 24" barrel and my Winchester turkey gun has a 22" barrel (both have about two inches of choke tube sticking out); all my other shotguns have 26" or 28" barrels.
I have a 24" for my 870 with three chokes. I put in the modified and killed mmany a pheasant with it back when we had birds in the early 90's. Alas, I loaned it to my son who put the 28" back on and he hasn't seen fit to bring it back. Kid can't hit a barn by the way. LOL.
I have a 22" on my BPS 20ga.
My son has a 24" on his BPS 16ga.
We use them for everything from rabbits,
squirrels, doves, and turkeys.
We're not to bad on the trap field with them either.
I like a short barrel, 28" and 26" seem to get hung
on anything I get near.
I'd love to one day get an O/U with a 22" tube.
I think nowadays with the ammo and aftermarket chokes,
barrel length is more for speeding or slowing
your swing. I even do most of my rabbit hunting
with 10" .410, just pure joy. I can handle the dogs
and don't have to worry about a barrel hanging me
up in the brush.

I use a 24In IC 12GA 1100 for Sporting Clays and Wooble Trap
I love to CROW hunt and use a Benelli NOVA 12 ga in 24"... Have used in on a many of successful turkey hunts too!
23" upland special works swell for meon everythig from woodcock to ducks and geese.
